Hi, I’m Julie,
I studied Visual Communication at Kunsthochschule Kassel in the class of Intermedial Photography with Prof. Peggy Buth. I’m also a member of trifecta collective, a photography collective.
Working across photography, film, conceptual art, and installation, my practice centers on auto-sociobiographical narratives.I explore themes of family structures, mental health, queerness, and socio-political realities, often connecting personal experience with collective questions.
I mostly work with analogue photography and camcorders but sometimes I also use some more professional equipment as well. For my hyperfocus I dive deep into the art and fun of cutting movies. I love staying rough and finding aesthetics there, since contents matter more than looks.
